Christians
We at Sacred Heart School strive to
provide a quality Christ-centered education in the Catholic tradition. We
provide a safe and secure environment that stimulates the physical, social,
academic, moral and spiritual growth of our students. We strive to develop
within our students a deeper commitment to the service of God, one another, and
the Church. Through our work in educating our students, we help prepare them for
their place and participation in a world where they may sow the fruits of their
Catholic education. Working to develop a love for learning within our students,
we uphold high standards that help them achieve their full potential. We also
strive to instill in them a sense of respect, creativity, critical thinking and
decision-making skills necessary for enabling them to become well informed and
morally responsible Christians.
Sacred Heart School is the only Catholic Elementary School in the City of
Newburgh. We believe that Sacred Heart School serves as a catalyst of positive
growth and change in the City of Newburgh and society at large. We commit
ourselves to an atmosphere for learning in which our students:
Understand and live the message of Christ through formal and religious
instruction, individual and communal worship, service to others and through
personal example of the faculty and staff
- Acknowledge the sanctity of all living things and respect the rights and
feelings of those with whom they live, work, and play
- Recognize their uniqueness, develop a sense of self-respect as well as realize
their own human potential
- Develop a moral conscience based on our Catholic Christian beliefs
- Develop a true love for learning which will prepare them for life in today's
Church and society
Sacred Heart School accepts students without regard to sex, race, religion or
ethnic origin. As a Catholic School, religious studies are an integral part of
our curriculum. A Christian atmosphere and family values permeate our learning
environment. The religious affiliation of every child is respected. All students
are required to participate in formal religion classes and activities.
School Hours are 7:50AM to 2:20PM
